How Solar Panels Work

Solar Panel Generation

Solar panels absorb sunlight and convert it into DC electricity using photovoltaic (PV) cells.

Inverter Conversion

The inverter transforms DC into AC electricity to power your home appliances efficiently and safely.

Meter Monitoring

A smart meter tracks energy usage and solar generation, allowing you to monitor savings in real-time.

Grid Connection or Battery Storage

Excess energy can be exported to the grid or stored in batteries for later use.

How Solar Panel System Works

The solar panels absorb sunlight and transform it into electricity in the form of direct current (DC).

The DC electricity charges a battery through a solar regulator. This regulator ensures that the battery is charged correctly and safely, preventing any damage.

For DC appliances, they can draw power directly from the battery. But for AC appliances, which use 240 Volt AC power, an inverter is used to convert the DC electricity.

Any extra electricity that the appliances don’t need can be sent back to the grid or stored in batteries for later use. This way, nothing goes to waste!

Solar Rebate Progams

Cut costs upfront with Australia’s generous solar rebate programs to promote clean energy nationwide.

Federal Solar Rebates (STCs)

Small-scale Technology Certificates reduce the cost of installing eligible solar panel systems. The amount you receive depends on your system size and location, making solar more accessible.

State Incentives and Feed-in Tariffs

Many states offer feed-in tariffs, where excess energy you export to the grid earns you credits on your bill. This helps you recover installation costs faster while earning passive energy income.

Low or Zero-Interest Solar Loans

Government-backed loans and financing options allow homeowners and small businesses to switch without hefty upfront payments.

Check the Power Output :

On the inverter’s display, you’ll usually find a number that represents the current power production in watts (W). For example, if it shows 4000 W, it means your system is currently producing 4 kilowatts (kW) of electricity. This number helps you know how much energy your panels are generating.

Navigate the Display :

Your inverter may have various screens and information. To access different data, press the MENU button on the inverter and toggle through the options.

Daily Production :

If you go to the ‘Log’ screen, you can see your daily energy production in kilowatt-hours (kWh). This number resets daily, so it’s a great way to check how well your system is performing each day
